How to play Weave

Weave hides several target words on a letter grid. Each word is a snaking orthogonal path through adjacent tiles. Together those paths use every letter exactly once and route around the wall tiles, so there is nothing left over when the board is done.

Where it comes from

Snaking word paths come out of the word-search tradition, but Weave tightens the contract: the grid is an exact cover, and every letter belongs to exactly one word. Walls split the board into pockets, which is what turns a hunt into a deduction — a pocket of six letters can only hold certain words.

How it differs from similar puzzles

A word search lets letters go unused and lets words overlap, so finding one word tells you little about the rest. Weave forbids both, which means every word you place constrains its neighbours. Themed path games that highlight one long spanning answer are a looser relative: they do not require covering the whole grid.
